Killington To Woodstock
We’re starting our day at Back Country Café, a hot spot for a hearty Vermont breakfast. The menu features farm-fresh ingredients, Vermont maple syrup, and locally roasted coffee, making this the perfect place to put the pep in your step for your day’s adventure. Try the amaretto French toast with mascarpone and fresh strawberries or the asiago scramble with home fries. Don’t forget a coffee for the road and some maple syrup so you can have a Vermont breakfast even when your summer vacation in Killington is over.
After breakfast, it’s time to hit the road! About 40 minutes down US-4, nestled in the deep greenery of the state, sits beautiful Woodstock. With its historic buildings surrounding the central town square, known as "the green," as well as museums and even reenactments of 19th-century life, it’s a wonderful place to take a stroll and discover all the hidden gems this town has to offer. Summer in Killington was made for ambling through our ample outdoor spaces. So, be sure to pack your walking shoes and swimsuits because next up, we're heading 20 minutes down the road to Quechee State Park. Here, you can walk the trails and take in the breathtaking views of the gorge, known as "Vermont's Little Grand Canyon," or take a dip in one of the swimming holes. The 612-acre park receives hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, and once you arrive, you’ll see why. If you like to fish, this is also a great place to find brook, rainbow, and brown trout! It’s easy to spend a whole day here during your summer in Killington, and with excellent campsites and amenities, you may just find yourself back here for a night or two.

With souvenirs from your travels in tow, and as the day slips closer to a close, we'll make our way to one of central Vermont's favorite spots, Long Trail Brewing Company in Bridgewater Corners. Helping blaze the trail for local brewers in Vermont, Long Trail started in 1989 and has a history as lush as the landscape. Take a tour of the brewery and sample some of their award-winning craft beers, like the flagship Long Trail Ale. You can even pick up a Summer Survival Pack variety case of beer to take home with you! On a summer night in Killington, there's no better spot to sit with friends and maybe even make some new ones.
